Magnetic Encoder
A rotary magnetic encoder is an electro-mechanical device that converts the angular position or motion of a shaft or axle to the output signal, what can be used for the precise angular calculation.
Rotary encoders are used in a wide range of applications that require monitoring and/or control of mechanical system. For example, for BLDC motor control or HMI interfaces.
Overcurrent detection
Motor controllers typically include an overcurrent detection (OCD) feature as a safety measure. To enhance safety, the OCD functionality is implemented using an independent current sensor. Hall-effect current sensors are particularly well-suited for this application due to their ability to provide galvanic isolation. The overcurrent detection circuit only needs to identify when the current exceeds a specific threshold for a defined duration.
